Summertime is here! And so are the popsicles!
Yesterday was the birthday of a close friend of mine. Usually, I give a flower bouquet as part of a birthday present. This time I wanted to do something different that will symbolise my wish for health and happiness.
When I am starving I cannot focus and my mood becomes terrible. So, I always try to keep a healthy filling snack at hand for urgent cases. I also love variety and thus, I am on a constant search for quick snack recipes.
My recent discovery I owe to my mother. She is always full of ideas how to turn a plain dish into a masterpiece by using the proper ingredients.
What you need?
1 medium butternut squash
Fresh milk/ coconut milk (if you are avoiding animal products)
1 cup mixture of rolled grains and seeds (sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Did you know?
Butternut squash has a lot of healthy benefits:
I used to be a coffee addict. I went with an eye-opening coffee in the morning and then switched to energy-boosting cappuccino in the late afternoon. This was the best-case scenario, though. Under pressure and during exam time at the university, I drank it to improve concentration and I used caffeine instead of sleep. There were days when my coffee consumption was more than 5 cups per day. This is how I reached the point when coffee no longer gave me a boost. On the contrary, I started suffering common caffeine overdose symptoms like nervousness, anxiety, and insomnia. When the symptoms escalated, I just decided to quit. However, it took me a long time to find the best coffee substitute. And honestly, also didn’t want to give up the milk which is a great supplement to the hot beverage.
